More heartache for Ronnie?

Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Womack) will come face to face with a blast from her past when former love, and father to her now deceased daughter Danielle, Joel Reynolds shows up in Albert Square later this year.

Joel (played by Cavan Clerkin) will arrive in Walford after Janine Butcher's (Charlie Brooks) scheming leads him to the Square and back to Ronnie. If killing her daughter wasn't enough misery to inflict on one person, Janine decides to delve into Ronnie's past and address book.

Joel's re-appearance will inevitably see viewers learn more about Ronnie Mitchell's past, but will romance re-blossom between the pair after so many years apart? And as one of the last remaining links to Danielle, how will Ronnie react to Joel's sudden visit?

Killer to return?

Tracey-Ann Oberman has revealed that she would like to return to EastEnders as Chrissie Watts, the infamous landlady who killed husband Den Watts (Leslie Grantham) with Pauline Fowler's dog-shaped doorstop.

The Actress was last on our screens in 2005, with Chrissie in prison for Dirty Den's murder. But viewers never got to see the trial due to the reported unavailability of the actresses involved.

It would be interesting to see EastEnders bosses explore Chrissie's story and how she has coped with her time in prison. And with Sam Mitchell (Danniella Westbrook) due to return to our screens this autumn after going on he run for her part in Den's demise a link has re-surfaced for Chrissie in Albert Square.

Short-term memory loss?

Peggy Mitchell has never had a good taste in men. After being involved with the likes of Frank Butcher (Mike Reid) and Harry Slater (Michael Elphick), Peggy (Babara Windsor) may have left the worst till last after marrying and last week getting back together with devious Archie Mitchell (Larry Lamb).

Peggy, like Roxy (Rita Simons) must be suffering from short term memory loss, after both forgave and let manipulative Archie back into their lives. This unrealistic emotional and romantic twist comes only four months after Archie's evil past was revealed. For anyone who might not have heard about 'that' episode, on his fateful wedding night in April it was revealed that Archie had lied to eldest daughter Ronnie (Samantha Womack) about the death of her daughter but Danielle (Lauren Crace), Ronnie's 19-year-old daughter was tragically killed before there was time to repair the damage.

After lying for nineteen years I find it hard to believe that anyone with any portoin of common sense would forgive and give a second chance to Archie. Peggy and Roxy have seemed to forget about how he destroyed Ronnie's life and in even considering reuniting with him, they have shown little sensitivity or concern for Ronnie. When even Phil (Steve McFadden), who has had his fair share of dramas and romantic disasters, questions your decision and can clearly point out the more sensible and thoughtful option, you know that you might have made a mistake.

New head, same Mitchell mayhem?

The residents of Walford could be forgiven for getting a little confused when it comes to Sam Mitchell. The original Mitchell sister first appeared on our screens in 1990, played by Danniella Westbrook. The fun loving and mischievous teen caused havoc on the square, including marrying childhood sweetheart Ricky Butcher (played by Sid Owen). Danniella and Sam departed in 1993 but the Actress made many short lived reappearances up til 2000.

On a visit to Spain in 2002 Peggy Mitchell (played by Babara Windsor) bumped into Sam at nightclub and even more odd was the fact she had a new head. Now played by Kim Medcalf, Sam returned to Walford with her mum Peggy. A new actress may have taken up the role but Sam was soon up to her old tricks as she bedded a number of local men, including Steve Owen (Martin Kemp) and Andy Hunter (Michael Higgs). Now more business woman than hormonal teen Sam once again departed Walford after being involved in the death of Dirty Den in 2005.

It was announced back in April that the original Sam Mitchell, Danniella Westbrook would be returning to the role of the on the run criminal Sam. Adding another fiery Mitchell to the mix will certainly add drama and explosive story lines for both the Mitchells and her former flame Ricky, who is now happily living with Bianca. But EastEnders will need to explain how Sam, who was last mentioned as hiding out in Brazil after going on the run for Dirty Den's murder, will mysteriously waltz back to Walford. If the the loose plot lines can be tied up then Danniella will be a fiery and exciting re-addition to the EastEnders cast.
